In 1935, there was a large amount of racial prejudice in Maycomb, Alabama. Young Jean Louise Finch, also popularly known as Scout, manages to lead a life of privilege that is relatively easygoing and clear of any racial issues. All of that changes when Scout sees Atticus Finch, her father, defending Tom Robinson from an upcoming death sentence brought on by racial prejudice.
Scout starts to realize that not everything that society tries to portray as true is entirely accurate. With the help of Atticus and her older brother Jem, Scout discovers that part of "growing up" is doing what is right, even if it means paying a steep price. "To Kill a Mockingbird," which is now regarded as a modern classic of American literature, examines the value of morality, love, and youthful innocence. To find out why Joe Dziemianowicz of the New York Post wrote that "Mockingbird is still relevant 60 years later on Broadway," be there live on Friday 30th June 2023.
